Day-to-day life. Daily life in a senior living community is almost no different than outside of one. The community might provide scheduling assistance so that seniors can plan out their days better and remember to keep important medical and other appointments. Independent seniors do their own laundry, for example, using washers and dryers in their homes. Apartment and assisted living setups might have in-home appliances or laundry facilities. Some communities offer laundry, dry cleaning and clothing alteration pickup and delivery services. A community might also have an on-site beauty salon and barber shop or offer residents opportunities to schedule appointments with a visiting beautician or barber. Personal errands and homemaker services are typically available to help seniors with non-covered home repairs in addition to cleaning and shopping.
