Form mentor relationships. One final tip on how to get noticed and improve your chances for getting that next big promotion is through the art of building mentor relationships with your higher-ups and senior members. This technique is especially important within large companies where your level of visibility is likely already quite low. To remedy this, take a look around your company and watch for those workers who are even slightly higher-up than you, and who may be able to teach you more on how to do your job to its utmost level. Once you’ve decided on a few of these people, approach them and inquire about maybe having them mentor you. This is not a flattery maneuver, but rather it is an opportunity to elevate your visibility in the company and improve your skills and overall chances of getting that promotion.
