Fill the gap. Sometimes you will find that even though you have all the right moves and skills to successfully fulfill and excel a certain higher role at work, that higher role does not actually exist at your company. At first, to many, this may seem like a downer, and cause to feel upset about your future prospects at the company. However, one way to solve the problem while getting yourself noticed, is to take a do it yourself attitude and create the non-existent position. Fill the void. After all, you have all the required skills as well as the motivation and drive, so why not? Thus, in order to go about creating a new position, set up a meeting with your superiors and be prepared to pitch them your idea for the new position. They may think it’s a great idea and put you to work implementing it. Or they may not be too keen on the idea, and shoot it down. But regardless of the outcome, you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. For example, by suggesting a new position, and all the planning that went into your idea, you have already been noticed for your great initiative and creativity, let alone your savvy sense of business by creating a job position that you and only you are properly suited for!
